Tejas Tiwari is 5 Years Old!

by

John Bain

Tejas was born in India on December 25, 2017 in Haldwani, India.

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) noted that Tejas is the youngest person EVER to earn a FIDE rating.

Tejas’ rating is 1149, which puts him at the 65%-ile of all registered FIDE rated players!

For a new, unrated player to earn a FIDE rating, the player must play at least 5 games against rated opponents; and the rating based on the tournament results must be at least 1000 in order to be put on the FIDE list of rated players.

Now at 5 years old, Tejas has played in numerous FIDE-rated events in 13 different states in India, earning a rating of 1149.

Tejas played his first FIDE-rated tournament at just 4-years and 2-months old, setting the stage for his remarkable journey in the world of chess.
