With the 14-game match tied after Round 13, the Challenger, India’s 18-year-old D. Gukesh, won Game 14 of the 2024 World Chess Championship, avoiding tie-breaks, and became the youngest World Chess Champion in history.

In the 14-game match, Gukesh won 3 games; his opponent, World Chess Champion 32-year-old Ding Liren from China, won 2 games; 9 games were draws.
