At only 14 years old, Pragg demonstrated he is the strongest chess player in the world under 18 years old, by winning the World Youth Under 18 Championship with a performance rating of 2712!
The Championship took place at The Renaissance Convention Centre Hotel in Mumbai, India, October 1-13, 2019.
“Pragg,” as he known by most people in the chess community, was born August 10, 2005 in Chennai, India. At 12 years, 10 months and 13 days, he became a Grandmaster!
To put Pragg’s achievement of becoming a Grandmaster in perspective, the current World Chess Champion, Norway’s Magnus Carlsen, born November 30, 1990, became a Grandmaster at the age of 13 years, 4 months and 26 days–6 months older than Praggu!
