The Cops & Kids Chess Initiative reaches 18 Schools and 270 5th-12th grade students with 25 weekly classes between October and March, holds two chess tournaments, and hosts one grand year-end event!

David Heiser (above left in photo), the President and Founder of Chicago’s Renaissance Knights Chess Club, has 30 years of combined expertise within law enforcement and nonprofit management, developing innovative programs that enrich the lives of Chicago’s youth, while engaging them in positive community relations.

David also serves as the Chess Advisor to the Chicago Public Schools’ Academic Chess programs.
